Highlights - Board Meeting – Feb. 16, 2021

The Abbotsford Board of Education regularly meets throughout the school year. Agendas and minutes from the public Board Meetings can be accessed through the District's Electronic School Board. Below is a summary of highlights from the meeting. To do our part to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and for everyone's safety, all public meetings of the Abbotsford Board of Education will be closed to the public and held virtually until further notice. The meetings will also be live-streamed.

Enhanced safety measures for K-12 schools

Enhanced safety measures and $121.2 million in federal funding are on the way, as the Province continues to strengthen health and safety plans in K-12 schools to keep students, teachers and staff safe during the pandemic.

All middle and secondary students and K-12 staff will now be required to wear non-medical masks in all indoor areas, including when they are with their learning groups. The only exceptions are when:

January Traditional Advisory Council (TAC) Meeting summary and data

On January 19, 2021, the revised Traditional Advisory Council held their first meeting.  Students, parents, and staff from the five Traditional Schools (King Traditional Elementary, South Poplar Elementary, Auguston Elementary, Abbotsford Traditional Middle School and Abbotsford Traditional Secondary School) met virtually on Zoom to talk about the recent survey data that students, parents, and staff from these schools completed prior to Christmas.  We also looked at some data about who we are as schools, looking at areas such as how much better our Gr. 4 and Gr.
